Has anyone else spent hours on that site? Which audio clip stuck with you the longest? Reply 1: I can’t do the audio. I stick to the text transcripts. Hearing the actual fear in a human voice is too much. The Tenerife clips are brutal – you hear the panic in the KLM crew right before impact.
I can’t decide if it’s respectful memorialization or if I’m just morbidly curious. Either way, planecrashinfo.com has probably the largest public archive of this stuff outside of the NTSB database.
Reply 3: The site owner explicitly states the audio is for educational purposes only. Please don’t remix or use it for YouTube clickbait. Respect the dead.
Does anyone else find the ATC/cockpit audio on planecrashinfo.com absolutely haunting?
Reply 2: I actually use the site for training (CRM – Crew Resource Management). Listening to how crews break down under stress (or stay calm) is a lesson you can’t get from a textbook. But yes, it’s heavy.
