I’ve been troubleshooting my ZTE MF79U 4G USB modem (the “Unlocked” model) and noticed it’s still on firmware BD_MF79UV1.0.0B01 . Speeds drop after heavy use, and the web UI sometimes lags.

If you own the MF79U 4G stick, don’t trust auto-updates. Latest working fw I’ve confirmed: BD_MF79UV1.0.0B10 (improves carrier aggregation & heat management).
