Next to him, in full legendary raven armor, stood Elara—no longer an NPC, but a companion character with a unique AI that no other player could unlock.

Inside were two tiny, animated portraits. One was the in-game avatar of Elara, smiling. The other was a blank space with the words: "Your face. The one behind the screen. The one who waited." ornysimp

The quest popped up:

"Sam," she typed, her avatar leaning against a crumbling pillar. "The Devourer world event is in an hour. There are titles. Legendary drops. You’re our highest-level botanist. We need you."
