“Exactly,” Finch said, walking to the door. “And the best camouflage we’ve ever had.”

“The Nightingale franchise has one more film in development,” he said. “Jack Ryder wants to make it ‘gritty and realistic.’ I’ve just had a quiet word with the producer. Nightingale will die in the opening scene. Killed not by a supervillain, but by a cyber attack traced to a teenager in Ohio. The rest of the film will be a three-hour procedural about filing Form 17B in triplicate.”

It wasn’t a microphone. It was a release button for a dozen hidden speakers around the warehouse. And from every speaker blared the theme music from Nightingale 3: Blood Protocol —loud, triumphant, absurd. mi 6 movies

While Koslov’s entire network focused on the fake agent, Cosette—the dumpy woman with the turnips—walked right past Koslov’s bodyguards, slipped into his private suite, and copied every file from his laptop. She used a device that looked exactly like an old USB charger. No explosions. No quips.

He pressed a button on his armrest. A door hissed open, and a young analyst, Moneypenny—no first name, just Moneypenny—stepped in, clutching a tablet. “Exactly,” Finch said, walking to the door

The plan dawned on Moneypenny. “You want to use the movies against him.”

“Koslov expects exploding watches, Moneypenny. He’s seen the movies. He’s trained his men to spot the ‘Hollywood’ spy—the sharp tuxedo, the suspicious glances, the beautiful woman in a slit dress. He is utterly blind to the real thing.” Nightingale will die in the opening scene

“Sit down, Moneypenny. Tell me what you see.”

Oops, sorry – one more quick question. It seems like my deck is not being shuffled between plays – we are seeing the same response cards each time we play. (There are many more response cards available.) How could I work around this? Thanks again!

Hmm, I’m not sure about this — when you say “between plays”, do you mean that you’re playing the game (with multiple rounds each time) several times, with the same students? Are you starting a new game as soon as the previous one ends? Perhaps the solution might be to create a new game and have players re-join after the first game is over?

Thank you so much for this incredibly helpful post! I have a quick question about playing the game in Zoom breakout rooms – can you use the same card deck for each game (going on simultaneously) or do you need to use different card decks? Thank you very much,

Thank you for commenting! You can definitely use the same card deck multiple times, but you need to create a new game with that card deck for each room. (I even share my card decks with other teachers, who can use them simultaneously with me.)
