Never force-install a generic "HID-compliant touchpad" over an I2C HID device. Always trace the problem back to the Intel Serial IO controller (for Intel systems) or AMD GPIO controller (for AMD systems).
Expand the Driver updates section.
Open Settings (Win + I) > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates . i2c hid device install
In Device Manager, under System devices , you see a yellow mark on "Intel Serial IO I2C Host Controller" or the controller is missing entirely. Windows Update >
