Frosty Mod is the battering ram that opened the gates. The tool was originally created by a modder known as GalaxyMan2015 (with significant contributions from others like CadeEvs and Dyneolo ). Early versions were clunky, but they did the impossible: they allowed users to import custom textures, models, and scripts into Frostbite games without needing to decrypt and repackage the entire 80GB game file every time.

The modders who built and maintained it did what a billion-dollar company (EA) refused to do: they opened up the Frostbite Engine. For that, they deserve a medal. Just don’t expect a plug-and-play experience.
