In the pantheon of Apple operating systems, Mac OS X Tiger (version 10.4) holds a special place. Released on April 29, 2005, it introduced revolutionary features like Spotlight search, Dashboard widgets, Automator, and built-in handwriting recognition on tablets. For many users, Tiger was the first "modern" OS X—stable, fast, and polished.
