But by episode four, Nina noticed something strange. The mission parameters began to shift. The Commandos were sent to retrieve a “Nietzschean artifact” from a Swiss bank. Then to assassinate a rogue psychic in a flooded Paris catacomb. Then, most chillingly, to “silence” a British MP who had discovered their existence.

It was a recruitment video.

“You squeeze the neck joint, G.I. Gator!” snarled the werewolf, Vincent Velcro, his snout flecked with foam. “Not the head! The head pops off, they keep shooting!”

Episode two introduced the rest. A medusa whose gaze only turned enemies into stone for sixty seconds—long enough to be useful, short enough to be horrifying.
