The broken glass did something weird. Instead of showing the dark road behind him, it showed his own backseat—except it wasn't empty. In every tiny fractured reflection, a figure sat in the middle seat. Same posture. Same tilt of the head. But the reflections didn't match. In one shard, the figure was leaning left.
